What are manually created courses?
Manually created courses are courses that are not created by the uSis - Brightspace integration, but act the same as uSis courses. That means that they are regular courses, that take place in an education period, but can not be created by the uSis - Brightspace integration. From a student and instructor point of view, the course names of uSis courses and manually created courses are the same. This provides consistency in the course names for end users.
uSis courses are known to take place in an education period. Currently the following education periods are known in uSis and therefore also in Brightspace:
- Semester 1
- Semester 2
- Full Academic Year
Only for LUMC
- Education Period 1
- Education Period 2
- Education Period 3
Read more in this article (Dutch only) on the advice and policy, for whether you should make use of a manually created course, or if an alternative like MS Teams would be a better fit.
This article is about a specific type of manually created courses: the manual course. Other types of manually created courses are:
- Faculty Courses, a course for an entire faculty
- Programme courses, a course for an entire programme, such as a Bachelor, Master or Minor
- Sub-Master Courses, like the Master course template used in courses
- Sandboxes
